Personal Profile
Jean Sommerville
Managing Director
Jean Sommerville founded Odyssey Relocators with the belief that more can be done to make relocations work for the executive and his family. After 15 years of experience in the relocation business both as a ‘trailing partner’ and as a relocation professional, Jean has lived and worked in Dublin, London, New York, San Francisco and Greenwich CT. As a result, she has come to see first hand the pressures that individuals and families come under, when undertaking a move.
Now more than ever, Jean believes the approach for those relocating, should go well beyond just sorting out the practical aspects. This has led to the formation of Odyssey Relocators, a service which aims to integrate families and professionals into the community, while at the same time minimising the more time consuming aspects of a move for our corporate clients.
Jean has worked in the past for Karen Dean Relocations (now Pricoa) and Corporate Relocations where she was responsible for moving high level executives to London on behalf of Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley and Citibank. Prior to that she was Senior Vice President with Edelman Public Relations in New York where she organised high profile media and launch events for Fortune 500 companies. This was followed by a period in London as a Director of The Communication Group handling the worldwide account for Orient Express Hotels and Sun International Resorts owned by Mr Sol Kerzner.
She has specific experience in moving well-know business and media figures to London, and provides the same premium service and exacting standards for all of Odyssey Relocators clients. Jean has a B.A. degree in History and Political Science from University College Dublin.
